A retreat venue in Andalucía, for your group alone

A retreat needs a place where nothing distracts. No other guests in the corridors, no traffic noise, no shared dining hall. Cortijo Puerto El Peral stands on 55 hectares of private land in the hills above Málaga and is let by the week to one group at a time. What you do with that week is up to you: yoga, meditation, writing, painting, coaching, or simply being still.

Room to gather and room to withdraw

The spacious sitting room with its beamed ceiling and open fireplace is a natural place for the group to come together. The tower room, with arched windows overlooking the hills, suits smaller sessions, writing or creative work. Outside, the courtyard, the covered terrace and the gallery with its ochre columns offer shade and quiet. The owners will gladly suggest which of the many spaces suit your various group sessions. Please note that yoga mats and other materials are not supplied.

Ten suites for twenty participants

Each suite has a private marble bathroom. Eight rooms have a king-size bed and two have twin beds, and two extra single beds can be placed in any room. Whether participants have a room of their own or share is for the organiser or the participants to decide.

Surroundings

Various walking paths start directly from the house and lead through the surrounding hills. El Torcal de Antequera, a nature reserve of remarkable limestone formations, is about 40 minutes' drive away and makes a fine day's walk for a group.

Practical

Málaga Airport is 40 minutes' drive away. The estate is open from March to October and is let by the week at €7,400, including VAT. With twenty participants that comes to about €370 per person per week. The rate does not include food, catering or cleaning.
